Not quite so candid

Kids are a strange lot. From my observations, they appear to do everything with the highest intent to accomplish that "one task" at that one time. And it's usually what matters most to them at that exact moment. (So why is it that I'm considering to pay a therapist hundreds of dollars a month to teach me how to do that exact same thing?) :(

Trevi Fountain

Notice the slight image angle? This was the only way I could get this capture without the photo containing any of the hundreds of visitors that constantly surround this very popular landmark in Italy. (Photo was taken in Rome, 2005.)

lucifer

Leave it to me to stumble upon the opportunity to spare a dime for the master of the underworld. This disconcerting character was sitting out front of the Burgos Cathedral. (Photo was shot in Spain, 2005.)

Eiffel

This photo of the Eiffel Tower was taken while I was on top of the Arc de Triomphe. Unfortunately there was a bit of overcast on that day, but it lent itself to the “dreary” effect I post-worked in Photoshop. (Photo taken in Paris, 2007.)

a constant request

Photo Journalism (life, candids, etc.) holds a special place in my heart. It allows the observer to decide, whether consciously or unconsciously, how the situation they are viewing unfolded and what parts in the “story” that each character plays. (Photos taken in France and Italy.)

dirt & spit

I love sculptures! They’re unique in that they have the ability to impose in so much of the viewer’s space. Plus, they’re just so cool! :) (Photos taken in Paris, 2007)

Close Up

Found these just outside of my home. They're two of the very few flowers in the area that haven’t completely wilted under the insane summer heat. These are my first macro[ish] botanicals I shot with my new camera. (San Diego, 2008)
